AubiChick Hemp Bedding for Chickens and Other Small Animals works great to help absorb moisture and odor in guinea pig enclosures. I recommend it layered over pine pellets and under a layer or two of plain fleece. (You can find cheap fleece blankets and fabric at the thrift store or repurpose an old one you have.)
The moisture travels through the fleece and gets absorbed by the hemp and pine pellets. I find the pine pellets alone were working well for moisture, but adding this AubiChick hemp bedding works AMAZING for odor control. I've never experienced the guinea pig cages smelling so fresh, even when they're ready for their clean!
I was taken aback by the price of this bedding and thought I wouldn't repurchase because of that. But then I saw how much you get for the amount, and how long it lasts! It's really an incredible value considering how absolutely massive the bag is. The hemp is so finely grained that it packs down in the package but then is fluffed up with use, so you get a lot of time out of one bag. We've had this bag for our guinea pigs for a month and there's barely a dent in the top layers.
The bedding is soft and appropriate for small animals. We have the fleece on top of it except in the kitchen area, and I have no worries about the texture on the piggies’ feet and bellies since it's so cushy, with no splinters or poky bits. I feel like it offers needed cushioning below the fleece on top of the pine pellets and must feel really nice to sleep on.
Obviously, any type of bedding is going to be a bit of a pain to clean up, but I've had good success using a dustpan and little broom and then scooping into the trash or compost. I'd say that's easy cleaning.
Very pleased with hemp bedding and with this brand in particular and will buy again whenever this bag finally runs out!
