I've tried more sophisticated methods of tracking pill taking, but this ADERI Reusable Pill Reminder is simple and effective. It's analog and manual, so you don't have to worry about replacing batteries or opening fiddly compartments. Just easily push the button for that day to red for not yet taken and green for taken. 

The elastic strap is stretchy and thick and fits on a variety of medicine bottles, even big supplement jars or small droppers. You get two per pack so can use on more than one container. 

The buttons run smoothly and are easy to feel, even for people with arthritis and other agility problems. The durability is strong with substantial plastic and elastic parts.

The simplicity is good for people with attention and memory concerns, young or old. They'll easily be able to track their doses.

The only downside is that this won't work as well for many different meds that need to be taken or multidose days, although some modifications could be possible. For instance, green could be morning and red evening, or this tracker could be set on a predosed container. I got this for my husband and son who each need only one pill a day, and it will work great for them.
