My body never knows how to take the change of seasons, so enter this
Eventek Electric Heated Scarf to keep me from getting chilled to the bone. It heats up quickly and gives a
nice ambient heat around the neck and face without having to cover your head. This would make it appropriate for
indoor uses like an office or school setting when you wouldn't want to draw your hoodie drawstrings together or throw on your Snuggie.
It is in fact an attractive scarf in itself. I do want to quibble with the listing, though, where it states several times that this scarf is cashmere. It is most definitely synthetic, probably acrylic, though the tag just says “100% imitation wool,” whatever that's supposed to mean. I guess that's why they made it slightly scratchy? It's not the softest scarf and I don't love the feel.
However, once it's around my neck, I'm not feeling it as much, just enjoying the heat. The heat zones extend throughout the center, enough to wrap around your neck. I wish they went farther down the “legs” of the scarf to help keep my arms and hands warm, but we can't have everything.
The scarf is powered by means of an electric battery pack that fits into a little zip pocket. You can plug it in then unplug to charge the battery pack or wash the scarf. It can be machine washed, but take out the battery pack, zip the little pocket, and hang to dry.
It's nice that it comes with its own battery pack. It's an outdated mini-USB, so it's convenient that it also includes a charging cord. I'm not sure how long the battery pack will last since that technology is sort of deprecated, but you can swap it out with any other battery pack that has a USB-A port as needed.
The heat function has three levels from low to high. It's nice to have a variety, and the hottest one is plenty hot. It works well and has gift value for another perpetually cold person.
All in all, I'm glad to have another way to baby my body along its protesting journey through the fall.
