My cats love their tube treats, and I hate the mess of it. Goop oozing out onto my fingers and the floor!
These LICKJIMO Cat Treat Spoon with Roller Squeezer with a roller squeeze function are a game changer. Pop the treat under the roller and squirt the gooey goodness into the large spoon at the end. It comes in a high-value 3-pack, so if you're extra talented, you could offer a separate treat to two cats at once.
For myself, I am not that talented. I found it a little hard to figure out how to use the product “one-handed” as claimed in the description. When I watch their video, I see them using both hands, so they couldn't figure it out, either! I think what's missing is a clipping function to hold the bottom of the treat pouch in place so the roller doesn't push it up.
I have to use it this way instead: Hold the spoon handle and treat pouch together in one hand. Use the other hand to squeeze the treat bit by bit into the spoon. At the end, really smush that pouch with the roller to get all the leftovers out. It's satisfying to see how much otherwise would have gone to waste! And the kitties love it, too, of course.
Even though the one-handed roller claims are overblown, it was still really handy to have the substantially large and firm support under the treat pouch and to have the ample surface area of the spoon for the cats to lick from. It definitely minimized the cleanup, and the cats took care of one errant drop onto the floor!
These spoons are also useful for biters — of the pouch or of your fingers! The long handles will help you keep both away from your kitty’s eager chompers.
These treat spoons are not supposed to go in the dishwasher, but they're easy enough to rinse off. I won't tell anyone if you put them on the top rack. The plastic is smooth with no rough edges or weird smell.
Overall, these are a durable and effective option that you might want to add to your toolkit. They're a good adaptation if your kitty loves treat sticks but you could do without the goopiness and are a great addition to your kitty snack-and-bonding time.
