I wanted to love these
Pesilo Set of 10 Self Watering Globes, but they were hard to fill due to uneven openings. They come in two sizes, with 6 of the standard large size and 4 of the mini small size. I really wanted the minis for my smaller plants, and they're a good size.
Unfortunately, because they're molded plastic instead of glass, the openings are clogged and narrow for the small ones. I eventually used a
succulent squeeze watering bottle to fill them because the sink and watering can had streams of water that just poured over the opening without going in. I wish they did a better job molding the openings and/or included a funnel or syringe or other filler device.
That said, the larger ones filled fine any which way, and they all sit well in the pots. You can stand them straight up or at an angle, depending on how fast you want the water to emerge. They all emptied but at different rates, so it's somewhat customized to soil dryness.
My understanding is that you're not meant to use these as the main watering function of plants but as stand-ins when regular watering is difficult or impossible, such as vacations, hot weather, or very busy periods. I appreciate them as a backup since I can be forgetful but would love it if they were a little more customizable in terms of how much water comes out and when.
The look of these is nice. I think the green pairs nicely with the plant leaves and is subtle.
These plastic globes are a good tool at an affordable price.
