These cardboard scratching pads are much smaller than expected. While the scratch texture itself is good and appealing to cats, the size makes them impractical for almost all adult cats. An average-sized cat can’t comfortably sit or stand on the pad while scratching, so it tends to lift or slide during use.
The listing describes these as “self-adhesive,” but it’s not clear where or how they are meant to be attached. The product images show the pads floating in the air, which suggests wall mounting, yet there are no clear instructions, visible adhesive backing, or guidance on safe placement. I wouldn’t feel comfortable attaching cardboard directly to painted walls, especially since a cat pulling while scratching could easily tear it loose.
These may work better for kittens or for very specific setups, but for typical adult cats looking for a stable scratch surface, the size and unclear design are limiting.
